Block someone in messanger

Occasionally, you’ll find someone in your Contact list that you’d rather not have contact with. One way of resolving this is to ensure that only people you include in your list can see you online. To do this, choose Tools > Options from the main Messenger window and click the Privacy link. Enable the ‘Only people on my Allowed List can see my status and send me messages’ checkbox.

You should now check your Allow List and remove anyone you don’t want to have contact with; click their name in the Allow List then click Block. Now only people in your Allow List will appear in the Messenger window, enabling them to send you messages. To block someone you’re talking to, click the Block button in the Conversation window or choose Actions > Block. To see who you’ve blocked, choose Tools > Options, click Privacy and you’ll be given a list of names.

You can also block a contact by right-clicking their name in the main Messenger window and choosing Block. The person you’ve blocked won’t know you’ve done this, and you’ll simply appear as offline to them.

Earning online

29 04 2008

Investing online is the latest trend that you could do in order to gain some extra bucks other than your day job. Apart from investing, the advertising online industry could also rake you some profits if you know the tactics around it. One of the best ways to gain money from the internet is to create a blog for advertising.

I have another blog by the name of My Virtual Journey that focuses around the internet money making and investments. There are many articles where you could learn from there of how to invest using short domains as a vehicle. This is because short domains are brandable and the demand for it is always there. I have been studying the pricing trend and I could comfortably say that it is in the increasing trend at the moment. Of course, similar to the share market, there are risks and there are some type of domains that could be used for flipping and some of it for long term investments.

IZEA Ranks

24 04 2008

Now, it has been the norm that most of the advertisers would love to have bloggers with blogs that have a high pagerank. As pagerank determines how high you rank when a person searches a term that is in the content of some posts in the bloggers post, it is quite relevant that advertisers target those blogs that are with high pagerank. However, there is a certain factor that the advertisers always fail to see and think of and this would be the traffic that the blog would receive per day.

As traffic is important where internet web surfers would have the chance to click on a link that links to the advertiser’s site, it is equally as important as the pagerank itself. If you have heard of the SocialSpark which is launched by IZEA lately, they have a revolutionary concept whereby they allow advertisers to choose their bloggers in terms of IZEARanks. The Izea Ranks is a powerful system where it could track the number of visitors (unique ones) that a blog could receive per day, thus the advertisers would have a better indication of how their money spent on advertising would be utilized in an effective manner.

On top of that, IZEA has used the IZEA Ranks to determine the top blogs that is registered at their site. This is a very useful method as compared to the pagerank for an indication as the pagerank is only considered an extrapolation of estimates. With this revolutionary tool that IZEA has included into their amazing program called the SocialSpark, I would presume that it would work wonders and will soon top the internet.

The internet has been branded as a media that brings the world closer. Having said that, there are many community sites being created whereby you would be able to get in touch with the individuals from around the world. What do you think of an internet website where it enables you to build a community of friends and contacts, whilst at the same time, monetize and building traffic to your existing blog?

SocialSpark is one of the only program that exists on the internet that enables you to do all the above via their amazing site. If you are searching for a way to earn some extra income rather than depending just on your dry day job income, this would be the best place to visit. SocialSpark’s blog monetizing program has 4 great code of ethics where these would enable you to have a better environment in earning while blogging. These codes would consists of the 100% audit-able in-post disclosure, 100% transparency, 100% real opinions and also the 100% search engine friendly.

The amount of money that you would receive upon completion of a review from your blog depends on the amount that the advertisers would pay for. However, note that you could not be possibly posting for each and every opportunity that exists in their marketplace. There would be some opportunities that you would not qualify for depending on your RealRank, Pageviews, Monthly Visitors and many other aspects. You could be earning from a small amount of USD5 to a whopping USD27 per post that you create in your blog (at least this is what I observed). Below would be some of the snapshots of the marketplace where you would be able to choose your opportunities to post and the sample of one of the opportunities’ requirement.

The 64-Bit

18 04 2008

Even if your computer has a 64-bit CPU, a dearth of compatible security products means now isn’t an ideal time to switch to Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (XP64). The new XP64 operating system is virtually indistinguishable from 32-bit Windows XP Service Pack 2. It incorporates all the security enhancements introduced with SP2, including the Security Center and a 64-bit compatible version of the Windows Firewall. Its core code comes from the highly reliable Windows Server 2003. And the vast majority of existing 32-bit applications will work just as well or better in the 64-bit environment.

Unfortunately, all the major antivirus and personal firewall utilities are included in that small group of programs that can’t function under XP64. Some vendors offer 64-bit compatibility in their enterpriselevel security products, such as Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0 and McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i. But as we go to press, none of their desktop security suites can handle XP64.

In truth, there is no real reason for the average user to install XP64, even on a system with a 64-bit processor. There are virtually no 64-bit applications available. A very few 32-bit programs (such as the latest Adobe Photoshop) have been written to take advantage of the larger memory space available to them when running in a 64-bit environment—the 2GB per-process limit rises to 4GB. And 32-bit programs may run somewhat faster. But that’s about it.
