The other extensions

26 11 2007

We have been talking so much about the .com domains. However, there are other extensions for the TLD that you might not want to miss out for the domains investing. Particularly for the .net domains, they have their own fair share in price increment especially for the LLL category.

The question lies in the acceptability of the general internet users in other extensions when they create a web page or a portal. We have seen the prices of the LLL.net to soar to the minimum reseller price of around $800 to $1000. Please do not forget the other extensions except the .net such as the .info and .org. However, the investment into these types of extensions would be of course, more riskier than the mother of the extensions, the .com itself.

The L-L-L coms

19 11 2007

If there are an increment in price substantially for the LLL.com, it might be caused by the favour of the end users especially companies which have these combination of letters as acronyms for their company names. As the LLL.com has long time been extinct in the market, one could always turn to the letters with hyphens in it. For instance, if a small company would find the ABC.com to be at a very high price and affordability being an issue, they could turn to the A-B-C.com instead. As these types of domains are only containing 5 characters, they could be branded as short domains. Prices of the L-L-L has been witnessed to be slowly on the increasing trend, thus it is good that you grab some of these names for an investment in the future.

The 5 Letter com

13 11 2007

We have seen the potential of the 3 and 4 letter .com domains. However, how about the 5 letter .com cuties? Well, with more than 11 Million variations of letter combinations, I would say that perhaps these types of domains are not that potential anyway. This would be unless it is all registered by end users or resellers. However, how long do you think the 11 Million 5 letter .coms would be extinct in the registrar anyway?

If you would like to invest into these names however, there are certain letter combinations that you could look at. These are the VCVCV and the CVCVC letter combinations. Where there are also quite a number of combinations from these letters, these are the most potential for the increase in price as it is usually pronouncable which is favourable by the end users. Perhaps you would like to keep these names for at least 2-3 years?

The 4 Letters com

9 11 2007

There is a great breakthrough in the 4 letters .com domains whereby they were all registered in the registrar a few days ago on the 2nd November 2007. Upon this, we can see that the prices of these domains had soared more than double of its original minimum resale prices. It is indeed a spectacular sight that more than 400k variance of all LLLL.com had been all taken up by end users and also resellers.

I have more than 150 of the LLLL.com domains and I would be planning to hold these names for more than 1-2 years as I am expecting a 1000 to 2000% ROI in these names in the future. My portfolio consists of pronouncables, 3 letter premiums, CVCV, VCVC and also the quad premiums. One mistake that I have done and not forsee is the flipping of these 4 Letter .coms in the double premiums and the anti premiums whereby I could have registered a few hundreds of them for a return of at least 500%. With the profit, I could have always reinvest it into more premium pronouncable 4 letter .coms for future investments. Oh well, there is no certainties in investments and I would have said that I have missed the boat in this profile of investment.

The 3 Letter com

3 11 2007

As I have stated in the previous post about the 3 letter .coms, it is indeed a laughing stock to those who has registered these names especially the bad letter .coms. (Q, W, Y, X, etc..) However, as I was walking in the mall the other day, I spotted a company’s name to be VKY. This particular shop sells clothes for the ladies and I was wondering, ain’t these letters bad letters? Would this company be willing to pay for a price of $30,000 if they would want to establish an online presence to sell their clothes? Of course they would.

Now, there are always a saying that people who are negative would never make it to be rich. What we have to do is to open up our minds and think of what would be trend 10 years later on the internet. Would there be more companies establishing an online presence or lesser? Of course the answer would be yes. As the 3 letter .coms are already a very pricey investment for a chance to meet with an end user, we have seen the 4 letter .coms to raise in price especially after the extinction of those in the registrar yesterday as of 2nd November 2007. If VKY would not be able to afford the price tag of $30,000, could they choose the domain name of VKYO.com as in VKY Online? Of course they could as I have seen 3 letter .coms being sold at hundreds of thousands and affordability is always an issue.
